Web 2.0 Awards Project:

1. http://www.pandora.com/

As a music teacher I found http://www.pandora.com/ to be an interesting site and found lots of music that I can use in the classroom to:
1. Play samples of music by certain artists. We are currently working on a piece composed by Ray Charles and it is interesting to compare our version with that of the original.
2. Play music in the background while students are working on a project.
3. Show pictures of the artists.
4. Find more songs by a specific artist.
One problem I did find when using the site was making sure my pop-up blocker was off, otherwise the site would not work. Firefox allows you to unblock pop-ups for specific sites which I tried and it seems to be working.

2. http://earth.google.com/

Another great site is http://earth.google.com/. I do a Chinese music unit and this site will be useful for students locating the country and taking a virtual tour.

3. http://wufoo.com/

http://wufoo.com/ is a site that allows you to create surveys that I could use to do a preassessment of student knowledge of Chinese music and culture.
